Monika’s Dance World
is a Berlin-based dance company founded by Monika Błaszczak, working internationally. At its heart, MDW
believes that movement unravels through us as an unstoppable, cosmic force — a pulsating energy that we call
the poetics of dance, or simply, love. This energy fuels our work as a company, shaping everything we create.
The word “company” originates from the Latin cum pānis, meaning “with bread,” a symbol of sharing nourishment. In MDW, dance — or love — is the bread we offer and share with each other.
Monika Błaszczak is a visionary Polish dancer and choreographer reimagining the possibilities of dance.
Originally trained in ballet, she stepped beyond its constraints, following a deeper pull toward experimental dance which opens portals into the unknown. An alumna of NYU Tisch in NYC and Trinity Laban in London, her work has flowed through spaces like Tate Modern, Sadler’s Wells, the Barbican, and beyond.
In 2025, Monika launched MDW — a company driven by her life- long mission to push the boundaries of dance.
