Bio

Monika Błaszczak is an award-winning Polish-Lemko dancer and choreographer based in Berlin. Passionate about movement, embodied memory, and the transformative power of dancing, she creates work that transcends disciplines and traditional forms.
Her works have been presented at Tate Modern, Victoria & Albert Museum, The Place, The Barbican, and beyond. She has taught Soliloquy – her movement method exploring the body as a living archive of past, present and future experiences – worldwide.
She holds a Master’s degree in Performance Studies from New York University Tisch School of the Arts in NYC, where she was advised by André Lepecki, and a Bachelor’s degree in Contemporary Dance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, both earned on full scholarships.
A graduate of the State Ballet School in Poland and a professional ballerina, Monika has since embarked on an unapologetic creative journey, rejecting her classical training and dedicating herself to a lifelong exploration of new possibilities in dance and choreography.
Monika also works at the intersection of dance, music, fashion, visual arts, and theatre, and has collaborated with artists including Monika Brodka, Daniel Avery & Alessandro Cortini, Tomasz Armada, and brands like Carlsberg, Burberry and Yohji Yamamoto. As a dancer, she has performed in the works of Paweł Sakowicz, Weronika Pelczyńska, Natalia Iwaniec, and Leah Marojević.
She equates the transformative power of dance with love, pulsating through every element of the universe, and through her work, she wants to contribute to amplifying this force.
